About this artwork
Two amorphous figures coil and touch one another. Although it is difficult to name these ceramic objects, their position suggests an embrace or intimate relation between them. Unanimated and yet highly suggestive, the sculptures are evocative of emotive warm feelings contrasting with the white cube’s inherent coldness.
With an ever-enigmatic body of work, Katink Bock is fascinated by sites and materials. Texture and our senses are solicited in each of her installations creating a space where her viewership is encouraged to play and imagine new configurations. Objects that were part of everyday life are turned into artworks, through these simple mechanisms, she perpetuates art’s relationship with ready-mades and raw materials.
