About this artwork
This work is part of the artist's installation cycle "The Mustache Hidden in the Beard". A collection of debris from a suspended and indeterminate time emanates an abstract beauty and an aura of mystery that gradually reveals itself. It takes us along within familiar and faraway re-enchants of our perception of reality.
Francisco Tropa establishes a perennial dialogue between the old and the contemporary, between archaeology and art. The artist conveys different techniques to achieve intervariable works that are part of bigger cycles and installation settings. Tropa produces powerful, timeless images that create very allegorical situations that seem to use a forgotten language of form, but which require the spectator to have an endless web of interpretation in order to find a meaning that is always hidden, always beyond what we see.
