About this artwork

Set in a mystical forest with vibrant colors and soaring vegetation, this painterly landscape transports us to an enchanted land where the figure of a unicorn is discerned in the foreground. Calling up fauvist paintings like André Derain’s L’estaque with its curled trees, the painting shows the duo’s reverence toward art history and their fondness for color.

We are the painters’ work revolves around the medium of painting; however, they also experiment with installations, sculpture and found objects. Their ingenious and unassuming artistic practice has led them to collaborate with unlikely beings such as goats, farmers and artists alike.
