About this artwork
Faces, arms and legs are floating among crossed white lines and shades of black and gray in this photographic work. Through this simple gesture of covering and erasing, the artist reveals a narrative that remains to be reinvented.
Le silence va plus vite à reculons is a photographic series using press images of violent events or public demonstrations where everything is covered and erased with white lines except faces, bodies, and slogans. The title of the series reads “Silence goes faster backwards”, a phrase that appears in the film Orpheus by renowned French director Jean Cocteau.
