About this artwork
The artwork title means “So far, so good” and has a reference to the French film La Haine from 1995. In the film it says, “It's the story of a man who falls from a fifty-storey building. As he falls, he repeats himself constantly to reassure himself, ‘so far so good, so far so good, so far so good... But the important thing is not the fall, it's the landing.” In this image, the phrase appears to be a neon light, with its bright reflection appearing blurry on a floor-like surface. This work echoes with Renaud Auguste-Dormeuil’s reflections on dichotomies like reality and fiction, memory and forgetfulness.
