UN goals
Very quickly we really built a very particular program focused on political, social, memorial, historical topics. And that remains since the very beginning of the gallery, the DNA of it.
About mor charpentier
Founded in 2010 by Alex Mor and Philippe Charpentier, mor charpentier has become known for its advocacy to contemporary art treating queer and human rights causes, feminist and post-colonial narratives among other politically engaged themes. Representing artists such as Uriel Orlow, Lawrence Abu Hamdan, Teresa Margolles, the gallery has undertaken the arduous task of showcasing contemporary artists reputed for working with strong themes and placing them in well-respected institutions like the MoMA or the Centre Pompidou. By doing so, they have proven that regardless of censorship, such creators have their place in the public and private arena.
In 2021, the gallery opened a second space in Bogotá, broadening the gallery’s reach and strengthening its relation with Latin America.
