Solidarity and Action Against The HIV Infection in India (SAATHII)

Summary
This project will support our ongoing efforts to diagnose 3,000 HIV positive pregnant women spread across 22 states of India and to initiate them on lifelong treatment for protecting their own health and preventing HIV transmission to children. The women will be supported through home visits on the importance of positive living, hospital delivery, feeding and care of the newborn, adherence to hospital visits and medications, early HIV testing of children and linkages to socio-economic services. Important Notice about Projects in India: We expect that there will be significant delays in getting funds to this project due to new regulatory requirements that impact GlobalGiving's ability to disburse to Indian-banked organizations. GlobalGiving is working hard to address the issue, but there is a chance that we will be unable to disburse funds to this project. If we cannot disburse funds, donations to this project may be reallocated to another organization per our terms and conditions.
