Summary
Since the Taliban takeover in 2021, secondary education of girls above grade 6th (11-12 years old) has been banned in most provinces.
With little hope to restart our ´Girls Can Code´program in secondary schools, we negotiated to restart activities, although in a slightly different format, for girls enrolled in the Centre for Technology Institute (grade 13th and 14th) as post-secondary education for women is still allowed.
Since June 2022, in cooperation with the Technical and vocational training Authority in Afghanistan, we are organising online courses in coding and web & graphic design for approximately 100 girls.
Our goal is to continue upskilling women in the country so that they can effectively and productively support their families and communities against the odds of their reality.
