Organization information

Maisto bankas

Location: Vilnius, Lithuania

Summary

Currently more than 4000 tons of surplus food is collected yearly from supermarkets. Everyday volunteers drive to the shops and collect food items that are of the last day before expiration. Later on this food is distributed to the poor. Maisto bankas" uses 13 vans everyday at full capacity to bring food, but two of those are now in critical condition and often break down. This project will help the organization to purchase a much needed van.
