Summary
Cyclone Chido devastated the Mayotte archipelago on December 14, 2024, causing hundreds of deaths and injuries and enormous damage: 70% of the population was severely affected and precarious housing, which represents 40% of the archipelago's housing, was completely destroyed. Already involved in disaster preparedness actions in Mayotte, the Fondation de France immediately mobilized by launching an appeal for donations that raised 42 million euros.
