Summary
About one-fifth of India's population is in the adolescent age group of 10-19 years. Unfortunately, the special needs of adolescents particularly adolescent girls are rarely addressed by the educational, health, and family welfare programs in India. We are planning to provide life skill, sexuality and supplementary education for 1000 adolescent girls. That would help them learn about their rights, continue their education, get employment, improve their confidence to make their own decisions. Important Notice about Projects in India: We expect that there will be significant delays in getting funds to this project due to new regulatory requirements that impact GlobalGiving's ability to disburse to Indian-banked organizations. GlobalGiving is working hard to address the issue, but there is a chance that we will be unable to disburse funds to this project. If we cannot disburse funds, donations to this project may be reallocated to another organization per our terms and conditions.
