Not all parents in the north Indian state of Haryana think the way SANJAY THINKS, hence, there are 834 girls for every 1000 boys. This imbalance has been created by an AVERSION to having DAUGHTERS, assisted in recent times by advances in medical technology. It is the starkest possible representation of the LOW VALUE & STATUS OF GIRLS, denying them a place in the world. We are working on the ground with families, community members & health workers to tackle the underlying causes of this problem.
