Summary
The Ocean is at the heart of many issues that are essential for our future. It is fundamental to educate students about the current status quo in order to make them informed agents.
The Fondation de la Mer has signed a partnership agreement with the French Ministry of National Education, Youth and Sports as part of the framework to promote equal opportunities and sustainable development.
The Fondation is working in partnership with the General Directorate of School Education to develop new tools and educational opportunities to raise awareness and train all students in all issues related to the Ocean, the importance of teaching maritime history, and careers in the maritime sector.
The Fondation de la Mer also created a labelling committee for educational projects and teaching aids discussing “the sea”, relying on a group drawn from the Foundation’s scientific committee and the French General Inspectorate of Education, Sport and Research.
The Fondation de la Mer is at the service of all those who act for a sustainably protected ocean, exploited with care and wisdom. It now supports hundreds of local actors and implements its own programs to protect marine biodiversity, fight against pollution at sea, support research, encourage innovation, inform and raise awareness among all audiences, especially young people.
