Summary
Mobility is key to economic dev't and human welfare; but fossil fuel-driven transport is unsustainable, contributes to Climate change and pollution. Approx. 90% of urban air pollution in developing countries is attributable to vehicle emissions. Uganda has over 2,300,000 ICE vehicles. This pilot will initiate EV retrofitting in Uganda focusing on the popular, poorly maintained public transport Toyota Hiace. Subsequent low-cost conversions will generate some revenue for related project support
