Ayapel garbage-free. Recycling & swamp protection
Organization information
Corporacion Para El Desarrollo Integral De La Cienaga Ayapel
Location: Medellin, Colombia
Summary
Environmental and visual pollution, caused by poor disposal of solid waste, is a big problem in Ayapel, where Colombia's second most important wetland is located. There is no recycling culture and its inhabitants don't know the environmental and economic benefits that these resources could bring. We are promoting an initiative to develop a social, economic and environmental model created to take advantage of solid waste and to prevent further degrading of the swamp which affects public health.
