Summary
Aiducation International is a for-impact organisation that awards merit-based high-school scholarships to talented students from disadvantaged backgrounds in developing countries. The scholarship allows a young person to embark on a lifelong learning experience and to come one step closer to reaching their full potential. Each scholar receives mentoring and coaching through different programs, can apply to receive seed money for their start up idea and becomes member of a worldwide network. Through that, bright students from humbled backgrounds are given equal chances to become an active citizens and realise their full potential for themselves and for their country.
Aiducation impact in figures:
- the average monthly gross income of Kenyans with only primary schooling is below the absolute poverty line, at less than US$37.5 per month (US$1.25 per day).
- in contrast, Kenyans who have graduated from high school earn an average of US$80 per month. It represents twice the average income equivalent to the poverty line, and almost triple the average income of Kenyans who do not have a high school diploma.
